House passes bill to fund Hudson River Park
The House of Representatives passed a bill on Wed. Aug 1 that would authorize $10 million in federal funds for the Hudson River Park Trust, Congressmember Jerrold Nadler announced.
The bill, which must also pass the U.S. Senate and be signed by President Bush, would authorize a $10 million appropriation for work on the five-mile-long Hudson River Park, including marine habitat restoration, safety improvements and rehabilitation of piers and core infrastructure.
These funds could be used for a number of key priorities for the park, which is an ongoing civic improvement that continues to have a profound impact on New York Citys quality of life, Nadler said.
