Candlesticks missing
The owner of two valuable 19th century candlesticks told police on Feb. 13 that the items, with a total value of $17,882, were missing after an antiques gallery show in the Starrett Lehigh building, 601 W. 26th St.


Attacked at home
A Chelsea woman told police that her estranged husband came to her apartment at 416 W. 23rd St. at about 6 a.m. Tues. Feb 13, got into an argument with her and fled with her bag, credit cards and a cell phone, after choking and hitting her. The victim said her husband, who drove off in a red van, lives in Queens but she did not know his address.


Debit cards gone
A resident of 464 W. 23rd St. discovered on Monday night Feb. 12 that his two bank debit cards were missing, police said. The owner cancelled the cards, which he last used two weeks previously, but two unauthorized withdrawals, one for $100 and the other for $300, had been made on Feb. 10.


Coke bust
Police stopped a motorist, Quangun Jin, 36, who was driving the wrong way on the one-way W. 20th St. at Seventh Ave. at 12:30 a.m. Mon. Feb. 12 and charged him with the traffic offense and possession of drugs when a plastic bag of cocaine fell out of the car as he got out. The 10th Precinct police station is in the middle of the block.


Van stolen
The U-Haul garage at 562 W. 23rd St. received a phone call on Jan. 28 that one of their vans was parked illegally at Franklin and Lafayette Sts., but an employee who went to the location saw someone driving the van away, police said. U-Haul told police on Feb. 13 that they discovered that the van had been missing from the 23rd St. garage since Jan. 28.


Robbed food vendor
Four men approached a food-vending stand in front of Lotus, the club at 409 W. 14th St., early Monday morning Feb. 12, demanded free food, and then beat up the attendant, police said. The robbers made off with the vendor’s license and $400 in cash. Police at first charged three witnesses that the vendor, who speaks little English, misidentified as the suspects. There was no arrest.


Car stolen
A motorist who parked his 2002 Mercury in on W. 15th St. just west of Ninth Ave. at about 4 p.m. Sun. Feb. 11 found it had been stolen when he went to retrieve it at 8:20 p.m. the following day, police said.


Drug sale
Police arrested Tony Kay, 53, at about 2 a.m. Sun. Feb. 11 at the corner of W. 22nd St. at Eighth Ave. and charged him with offering to sell two bags of cocaine to an undercover policewoman.


Bottle thrown
Police charged Dariana Mota with assault for throwing a bottle at woman she was arguing with during the early hours of Sun. Feb. 11 in front of J’s Pizza on Seventh Ave. at W. 16th St. The bottle hit the victim in the face and she sustained a cut lip, police said.
