Thanks for the Thanksgiving dinner
Thanksgiving diners at the soup kitchen at the Church of the Holy Apostles on 29th St. and Ninth Ave., like the two men above, enjoyed delicious meals of turkey with cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, vegetables and pumpkin pie. Below, the Right Reverend E. Don Taylor, New York City vicar bishop of the Episcopal Church, left, and Reverend William A. Greenlaw, rector of the church and executive director of the soup kitchen, shared a moment to chat during the meal. The soup kitchen serves more than 1,100 hot nutritious meals every weekday, including holidays. Anyone is welcome without question or qualification. Since the soup kitchen first began in 1982, it has served more than 5.6 million meals.
