No buts about it, shot near Chelsea school

A gunshot fired by an unknown male struck a man walking in Chelsea Park on the path between P.S. 33 and the Department of Health district station at 303 Ninth Ave. at 2:45 p. m. Tues. Sept. 27, police said.

The victim, 30, was hit in the buttocks and leg and the shooter fled. Witnesses said they saw the man accompanied by a woman flee into a nearby Elliott-Chelsea Houses building. An Emergency Medical Service team treated the victim at the Ninth Ave. entrance to the park and took him to St. Vincent’s Hospital where his condition was described as good.
