It wasn’t quite a million, but the group One Million Moms for Gun Control drew out 400 moms, dads and kids on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, for a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to commemorate the great civil rights leader and raise the call for gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. New York has three chapters of One Million Moms for Gun Control and they’re currently organizing another in Staten Island.

We need more protests like this one. Although you have a gun permit you must use the gun only in a controlled environment or in extreme situations. I own a rifle and a set of AR 15 accessories, but I use them only for the hunting season.

We also need more severe laws because we are talking about guns, not toys. I own a gun and I had to take many psychological tests to have a gun permit. Even when I bought another shotgun from ClarkeArms.com, I had to complete many important papers.
